Gardens
London has a beautiful summer from May through September
when the weather is normally fine to have fun in the garden or parks.
First check the
weather forecast
then decide where you want to go:
- Ornamental Garden
- Our beautifully maintained garden is
ideal for sunny days and garden parties but please
no games, dogs or excessive noise.
The Ground Floor Maisonette patio backs on to the garden.
First Floor residents and Top Floor residents have a key
to use the top gate from the street in Holland Gardens.
- Holland Park
- Only a
five minute walk
away, with its kids' adventure playground,
tennis courts, football pitches, lovely cheap café and
opera and ballet.
- Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens
- The Royal Parks are only a
twenty minute walk away, through Holland Park.
Try this informed
sculpture walk
for a fascinating hour in Hyde Park.
- Richmond Park
- Thirty minutes on the District line
(change platforms at Earl's Court for Richmond) for
sport and the
Royal Botanic Gardens.
- Hampstead Heath
- 700 acres of freedom, including
holiday fun-fairs and spectacular
Kenwood House
classical concerts.
Its lido and free Victorian bathing ponds are the closest thing
London has to a beach. 45 minutes by
silverlink (not Sundays)
from Kensington Olympia platform 2
to Willsden Junction where you change train for Gospel Oak.
- Brighton Beach
- For a real day at the seaside catch
South Central from
Kensington Olympia platform 3 to Gatwick and change train for Brighton.
You'll be on the beach within two hours.
